When our space is clear our mind is clear. Sounds easy enough right?
That is not always the case.
Maintaining a clean and organized home is definitely one of those things that is easier said than done – especially if you have a lot of stuff!
Keeping an organized home is a big goal.
And how do we take on big goals?
Break the goal down into small and manageable steps. Breaking down goals is key to prevent being overwhelmed.
Today we are going to take on the goal of the home organization and really break it down so you can achieve maximum success.
Tip 1: Do One Section at a Time
Not one room at a time… one section.
Say your kitchen drawers are in need of some TLC.
Only take on one drawer at a time and don’t worry about the other drawers until you are happy with the first one.
Now it doesn’t have to be perfect because nothing in life is. As long as it is functional and you are happy.
Tip 2: Don’t be Afraid to Ask For Help
Taking on tasks alone isn’t only difficult but it is also boring! When a task isn’t enjoyable being motivated to complete the task will be next to impossible.
However, if you have an awesome team to guide and support you the overall processes will be much easier.
Tip 3: Make it a Habit of Decluttering Regularly
What option sounds easier?
1) Decluttering 100 items one day a month.
2) Decluttering 1 item every day over the course of a few months.
The second option of course.
Decluttering boxes and boxes of items in one sitting would be difficult for anyone.
The key really is to start the habit of regular decluttering so it becomes a habit.
Studies show that it takes roughly 30 days to form a new habit.
Decluttering a little every day may seem hard at first but if you keep at it and make it a part of your daily routine you will be a pro in no time!
